Love, Lies and the Lost Lord
He’s nobody’s hero, yet he may be the man to help an imperiled lady save herself….
Rhys Seaton has been many things—bastard, street thug, criminal, spy, and now a wealthy business man, but his death bed promise to his mentor sends him on one last job with only a vague direction: Stop Lord Lavensham. On a moonlit night he breaks into Lavensham’s study searching for clues only to interrupt the duke’s lovely daughter-in-law on a similar quest. The fragile beauty wakes his curiosity and his protective instincts.
Lady Violet Sommerset is in desperate straits. Married to the cruel heir of the Duke of Lavensham, she’s endured isolation and abuse, but now with child, she needs to find leverage to blackmail the duke as he is the only man who can control his violent, drunkard son. In the duke’s dark study, she finds an unlikely ally in Rhys Seaton.
As they work to uncover the duke’s dirty deeds, they discover a friendship that crosses social strata and grows into a love that just might become the safe haven each of their hearts long for.
Reviews for Love, Lies and the Lost Lord
"The well written plot is the perfect blend of slow-burn romance and mystery, brimming with emotions, secrets, suspense, action, danger, violence, spicy love scenes and unpredictable twists and turns. Rhys and Violet‘s story is an allies to friends to lovers romance with added class disparity, damsel in distress/lady in danger and „touch her and die“ tropes, and it features a celibate former bad boy/protective hero with a troubled past and a big heart, as well as a strong, abused heroine fighting for her unborn child."

Their story is perilous, witty, endearing, delectable, utterly charming with a side of dark & twisty, and absolutely unputdownable. A special shoutout to Max, the giant beast he reluctantly adopts and who’s companionship cracks his loner resolve. I’m not sharing any details about the plot. Just know that this is the captivating fantabulous culmination of all three previous books. There’s a ton of cameos, and the whole thing comes full circle in the most satisfying way!

I loved the main characters, Violet and Rhys. I liked the dynamic that drives their relationship. Feelings grew subtly as they gradually got to know one another. The plot, which combined romance, suspense, and secrets, was engrossing. This book offers a beautiful, slow-burning romance.

“Loves, Lies and the Lost Lord” by Karla Kratovil is the conclusion of a 4-part series where we finally find out Rhys story. It's a page turner with the sweetest love story! I have been dying to find out who Rhys is and all the connections since he was introduced in the 1st book.
Violet finds herself in the beginning of the book with an abusive husband and limited options. I really enjoyed how she manages her situation to find her happy ending
The whole series has great female friendships and loveable, non-problematic men (my favorite kind of read!) with great story telling and just the right amount of fantastic spice!
